NAFA FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO THREE RECIPIENTS
Scholarships recognize outstanding personal and academic characteristics.
Madison, WI: The National Air Filtration Association Foundation (NAFA Foundation) has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to three deserving students. The NAFA Foundation exists as a 501 (c) (3) organization with the mission to further industry research and technology development in air filtration, member education and scholarships. The scholarships extend to the family of members of the National Air Filtration Association (NAFA).
Jeff Holt, Chair of the NAFA Foundation said, “Over the last 23 years, NAFA has provided an opportunity for two (now three as of 2015) young people from the NAFA family – all members of NAFA companies – to receive financial scholarships from the NAFA Foundation. These scholarships are based on grades and a written essay about what they have accomplished and what they hope to achieve.”
The scholarship competition is open only to the immediate family of NAFA Active, Associate, Supplemental and Affiliate members in good standing, or family members of employees of NAFA member firms. For this program, grandchildren of NAFA members are also eligible to compete.
This year’s recipients are Kelsey Brown, Alexis Fintland and Robert Wenger.
After being notified, recipient Robert Wenger replied in an email, “I am honored to be one of the recipients of the NAFA scholarship. I am so grateful for the support of my family and your organization. Your generosity has greatly enabled me on my road to becoming an engineer.”
All applicants must submit their academic information, a 1-2 page typewritten essay addressing work experience, career objective, leisure interests and activities, as well as two letters of recommendation. All applications are evaluated anonymously by the NAFA Past Presidents, and winners of the scholarship are also announced at the Annual Convention. The deadline for submitting nomination forms is August 1st of each year.
