NAFA Member Recertification Form

NAFA Certified Air Filter Specialist and NAFA Certified Technician (Level I and Level II) Renewal Application 2022

The following application must be completed, signed by the Company Liaison, and returned to NAFA headquarters by December 31, 2021.  Upon acceptance of this renewal application and appropriate fees, new NAFA certificates will be issued.  Note: Please read all instructions carefully, failure to sign this application may result in a delay in application processing and subsequently the charge of a $100 late fee.

Section 1 – Continuing Education Requirements

To maintain CAFS Certification, individuals must complete eight (8) continuing education credits annually from the categories listed below*.  No more than four (4) total credits will be accepted from any one category.  These activities must have been completed between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.

To maintain NCT (Level I and Level II) Certification, individuals must complete one (1) continuing education credit annually from the categories listed below*.  This activity must have been completed between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.

* If the certification was earned in the year 2021, no additional continuing education credits are required.

4 Attend NAFA Technical Seminar 2 Write a technical article for publication in Air Media or other recognized industry publication related to HVAC and air filtration
4 Attend an industry recognized multi day technical seminar (ASHRAE, INDA or similar) 2 Give a technical presentation at the NAFA Tech Seminar, Annual Convention or other event related to HVAC/IAQ/Air filtration or otherwise present technical information related to the industry for educational purposes
2 Attend a 2+ hour training seminar related to HVAC/IAQ/Filtration given by a supplier/manufacturer of HVAC/IAQ/Filtration related products 1 Present an in-house seminar or attend an in-house seminar presented by a CAFS or other industry expert on a topic related to HVAC/IAQ/Air Filtration
2 Attend 2+ hour seminar on HVAC, IAQ or filtration given by a related association or organization such as AABD, ACCA, AIA, AFE, AFS, AMIAQC, ASHE, ASHRAE, BOMA, CETA, EPA, IAQA, ICB, NAPE, NEBB, NEI, NSPE, RESE, SMACNA or TABB 1 Present or attend a webinar presented by a CAFS or other industry expert on a topic related to HVAC/IAQ/Air filtration
2 Serve as Chair or Vice Chair of NAFA committee and attend at least 2 committee meetings    
Section 2 – Signature of NAFA Company Liaison

Each certification renewal application must be signed by the Official NAFA Company Liaison in order to be processed.

I have reviewed this application and attest that all information contained herein is correct and true.  I understand that any misrepresentation is subject to disciplinary action by the NAFA Board of Directors including, but not limited to, revocation of certification and/or termination of membership.

NAFA CAFS and NCT (Level I and II) Recertification Form

  • Each certification renewal application must be signed, by entering your name, email and company name, by the Official NAFA Company Liaison in order to be processed.

    I have reviewed this application and attest that all information contained herein is correct and true. I understand that any misrepresentation is subject to disciplinary action by the NAFA Board of Directors including, but not limited to, revocation of certification and/or termination of membership.

    By entering my name, email and company name, the NAFA Company Liaison affirms that all certified personnel listed on the 2022 renewal invoice (excluding certified personnel who have been dropped from the company) have completed sufficient credits (as listed above) to maintain their certification. Further, the NAFA Company Liaison agrees to keep proof of attendance at NAFA approved functions on file for at least one year from the date of this application and further agrees to allow NAFA, at anytime within that year, to request proof of attendance. Failure to provide proof of attendance will result in immediate suspension of all company certifications.
