The Best and the Brightest

Each year over the last 20 years, NAFA has provided an opportunity for two (now three as of 2015) young people from the NAFA family – all members of NAFA companies - to receive financial scholarships from the NAFA Foundation. These scholarships are based on grades and a written essay about what they have accomplished and what they hope to achieve. Having read through many essays, I must say the decision to narrow to just two is always a difficult one because all of the essays represent the best and brightest of our young people. The NAFA Scholarship golf tournament held each year at our annual conference and co-chaired by my friend Jeff Holt and me, always brings together a third of our membership, some really good golfers and some…well, let’s just say they receive (as Jeff Holt affectionately calls it) the “Tommy Ryan Golf Award.” The Overall purpose of the tournament is fun, fellowship, and funding the NAFA Foundation which disperses three $1,000.00 scholarships yearly. We thought it might be of interest to our Members to take a look back at a few of the recipients of the scholarships and see where they went and what they are doing now. And before you read, just a little reminder that you can be a part of all of these scholarship success stories by making a tax-deductible contribution to the NAFA Foundation.
