Major: Computer Science
Ryan is majoring in Computer Science at the University of Virginia. After years of volunteering and working with children to teach coding at Code Ninjas®, a business that teaches college-level computer coding to kids aged 6 to 14, Ryan realized he wanted to pursue a career in teaching this subject.
Ryan was impressed with how quickly children learn (and enjoy learning) code, with many of them seeming to struggle in social situations and helping provide this safe environment is very rewarding. He credits his journey through the Eagle Scouts and his love for skateboarding for giving him the drive and tools to help guide his decision to be a mentor and ultimately being the change he wants to see in the world.
