2019 – Kayla Harding

Kayla Harding, Sister of Shannon Kerns, Fiber Bond Corporation

Major: Civil Engineering

Driving Kayla’s pursuit of a Civil Engineering degree at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology was seeing the positive real-life effects that the discipline had on a relative with Cerebral Palsy, as well as an older sister who is established in the field.

Of her many volunteer activities, her time with Big Sisters has been the most impactful. Her “Little Sister” taught her to appreciate the many blessings she has been given. Other pastimes include conducting free volleyball clinics and acting as camp counselor at Camp Rave.

Balancing a tough academic load, commitments to athletics and her work with nonprofit organizations, Kayla has the compassion, dedication and leadership to make her personally as well as professionally succeed.
