I am currently in my second year of medical school at the University of Alberta. Though I originally graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, I realized through my various extracurricular activities that I was intensely passionate about women’s health and marginalized populations. Medicine seemed to be a career where I could combine these interests, and where I would be able to make a difference, by providing compassionate and non judgmental care to patients.
I am very thankful to have been a scholarship recipient. My parents have been tremendously supportive of my education, and it is wonderful to know that my father works for an association that also supports post secondary education, and creates opportunities for students.
